Scope
Degrove was tasked with completing topographic surveys to support the creation of a model for flow dynamics for Fisheating Creek.
Main Project Tasks
The project consisted of three main tasks:
• Collect topographic data at 100-foot intervals along approximately 72 miles of road centerline.
• Collect data on structures including culverts and bridges.
• Collect topographic data at a 100-foot interval along, approximately, 44 miles of cross-sections.
The project was located both on public and private lands. We contacted property owners and arranged for access.
The project had a completion schedule of 90 days. Degrove used four survey crews, an SIT, and two PSM’s to ensure the project was completed ahead of schedule. Additionally, RTK and static GPS was used extensively along with our Marshmaster tracked vehicle. The project was completed using Microstation and Inroads. Arcview shapefiles were created for each cross-section, road, and structure. The project was delivered three weeks ahead of schedule.
