St. Johns River Water Management District – Annual Contract

Main Project Tasks

We are on our fourth, three-year contract with the St Johns Water Management District.

We have been tasked with providing surveying and mapping services. Our resume of completed projects includes:

Topographic Survey of the Yarborough Tract – St. Johns County, Florida. A topographic survey of a 500-acre tract in Hastings for a proposed water-detention area was completed. Trimble RTK GPS receivers were used along with conventional techniques to obtain topographic data. Horizontal control was established at the site using static GPS procedures. Benchmarks were set using Leica digital levels and bar-code rods. Star*Net-Plus least squares adjustment software and Star*Plus data conversion picture/graphic  

Topographic Cross-section on Dora Canal – Lake County, Florida 26 cross-sections were completed along Dora Canal between Lake Eustis and Lake Dora in Lake County. The survey data was delivered as an ASCII data for insertion into the ACOE HEC-2 backwater program. Bench Marks were set at one-mile intervals along the route from the vertical control points to the site. Leica digital levels and bar-code rods were used. Star*Net-Plus least squares adjustment software and Star*Plus data conversion utility were used to process each level run. A Trimble Pro XR GPS receiver was used to establish the horizontal position of each site and bench marks.   

Topographic Survey of Bridges at Gum Root Swamp – Alachua County, Florida This survey consisted of providing cross-sections and topographic surveys of 5 bridges in the Gum Root Swamp area of Alachua County. Horizontal and Vertical Control Points were set at each Bridge. Trimble ProXR GPS receivers were used to establish horizontal control within a positional tolerance of 1 meter +/-. Benchmarks were set using Leica digital levels and bar-code rods.  Star*Net-Plus least squares adjustment software and Star*Plus data conversion utility were used to process each level run.

Acquisition Surveys – Marion County, Florida Boundary surveys of six parcels for proposed well sites. picture/graphic

Topographic Survey of the Edgefield Tract – Putnam County, Florida A topographic survey of a 203-acre tract in the Dog Branch Basin for a proposed water detention area was completed. Trimble RTK GPS receivers along with conventional techniques were used to obtain topographic data. Horizontal control was established at the site using static GPS procedures. Benchmarks were set using Leica digital levels bar-code rods. Star*Net-Plus least squares adjustment software and Star*Plus data conversion utility were used to process each level run.  picture/graphic   Lake Louise Water Level Control Structure – Volusia County, Florida A topographic and boundary survey was prepared for the proposed construction of a control structure in a ditch adjacent to Baker Pond. Benchmarks were set using Leica digital levels and bar-code rods. Star*Net-Plus least squares adjustment software and Star*Plus data conversion utilities were used to process each level run.
